This journal serves as my sort of secret art journal, a journal away from a journal. Secret because this is the place where I will put all my new, er secret art stuff, if I ever get inspired again to draw, which is basically composed of unfinished stuff and stuff I would never show my friends in RL because they will stone me lol.

Hullo! Just checking in after a long time and seeing all stuff I've missed. (Apparently, a lot.) I know i'll be swamped with cooking and preparation stuff later, so I'll just get this out of the way, you know:

"Time of my Life" in the Olympics! Coupled with my newfound obsession with Cookleta, this was sort of inevitable. In another time, I might put in a bit more effort with the proportions and such, but this'll have to do for now. Olympics!AI7! You know you want to.

Might add more later when I get my hands on the laptop. Now, when to finish these things... ^^;; Man, I really need to get a job as soon as possible.

Lately, I've been watching this really awesome show, The Big Bang Theory. It's a comedy about four friends, physics and engineering geeks, who have their perfect little world of toys and comic books, when a beautiful girl transfers next door. I find it awesome mainly because the show does not shy on telling really geeky jokes and not dumbing them down for mass consumption. (Engineering jokes! String theory jokes! I mean, come on. I am so in love.) As a scientist myself, hearing jokes I usually just throw around in the lab in an actual TV series just fills me with GLEE. Also, I love that the girl next door is a really nice, smart girl who genuinely likes these guys and that the 'romance' is not really pushed onto the viewers as much.

Watching this series makes me feel so cool haha.

My favorite character in this of course is the resident sarcastic genius who thinks he's superior to other people. He also has ( cut for spoilers )

Sounds familiar? I love you, Sheldon Cooper or should I say Rodney McKay: The Caltech Years!

P.S. I totally want to get a PhD in Mechanical Engineering now haha. *waits anxiously for episode 16*

Two awesome things:

1. Art rec: paintedspires. The whole comm. Yes. Linking to individual posts would be such a monumental waste of time since I would link just about everything haha.

2. I HAZ A BANNER FROM team_sga! Also, briar_pipe already posted a masterlist for the Team Teyla AU Fest. This just made my absolutely horrible day bright and happy.

Not-so-good thing for the day: My art for paintedspires is doomed. Lesson learned: Never draw when you are in really bad mood. Really bad.

I suck at remembering dates! I though my deadline for the Team Teyla SGA AU Fest was the 28th, then I realized I was thinking of another thing. That's it, I need a planner! I crammed things before, but not with art so I'm still stressed here. That was some first.

I'm kinda proud of it though. See it here. For once, I did not agonize much over the perspectives and it looks okay. Yay me!

Trying out OpenCanvas, again. Just a couple of speed paints to ease some stress. My mother told me a while ago I was looking less homicidal. Good!

Wow, I haven't been here for a long time. I think I missed a couple of birthdays.:(

I do have an excuse though, as I was rushing may ass off to pass my thesis draft. As much as I want to beg off defending this semester, my adviser would kill me so I'm just satisfying him with a draft. I think I'm still feeling the truck hit of not sleeping for 3 days in a row in that mad rush to get a little data to make my data at least presentable for a first draft. Well, I'm taking a break right now. At my state right now, I think I'm gonna go insane if I see another differential equation in the next hour. But I have to add more data to my thesis, because my adviser just assigned me to the most vicious defense panel set yet. HATE!

The only positive thing for me right now is that I finally learned LaTeX! (Yes, I'm a heathen.) MS Word, I'm sorry, but you just got PWN'D to me. OH MY GOD *~BEAUTIFUL EQUATIONS~*.

Anyways, some arts. I haven't drawn in such a long time I think I already forgot about it ahaha.

Okay, back to work.;^;

I've only been in SGA fandom for such a short time, but I think it's safe to say that in this fandom, beyond any reason, if you think you've already thought the most cracked out crack that ever cracked, 99.999% of the time somebody will out-crack you. I mean, for example: penguins, then turkeys? (Though in my opinion, they are both WIN -WIN.) SGA has also one of the most extensive collections of fantastic AUs in any fandom I've ever been. I don't think I've even read through the pin needle of the total of SGA AU fanfics out in the net yet and I'm already boggled by the way they can fit into any universe. Goodness!

(Anyway, I was trying to figure out where I read it, but I just know I've read this wonderful Firefly/SGA crossover, with John as Mal, Rodney as a River/Kaylee character, Teyla as Zoe (duh) and Cadman as Jayne. (GENIUS) So you, beautiful soul, who will point me to where this gem is, I will love you forever.)

Okay, that's it, it's time for school, or really, to be harrassed by my adviser about my thesis. While in China. He's that awesome.

There's not really much opportunity for me to draw these days, what with doing all the backlog of work from the holidays. However, since its a weekend and apparently I missed the announcement of Joy Day, I'm willing to accept requests for SGA art. That is, if you're up for quickly drawn arts.:D:D:D

The summary of my reaction to SGA4x11: LULZ.

I just read a really beautiful piece of McKay/Sheppard fiction by ladycat777 titled "The Principle Business of Life" and, having just re-watched Season 1, particularly Childhood's End, the fic made me wonder how Rodney would fare when meeting civilizations/races that are of non-ancient descent. Oh I'm sure the kids would still love him, but wouldn't it be interesting if they, you know, released other fluids aside from snot and drool, for example?

So, I spent my first day of the year trying to come up with interesting baby-sitting experiences for Rodney, Pied Piper of Pegasus. Yeah, I know, I'm startingly unoriginal, but hey I'm still holding the damn newbie card and hell if I'm not going to use it. *is still nursing a hangover from strong vodka*

So I made some arts! And really random art commentary!
